Here’s what happened.

On social media, Trump declared that “A RIGGED ELECTION TOOK PLACE LAST NIGHT IN THE GREAT COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA!” He said Republicans were winning “all day long” until, suddenly, there was a “massive ‘Mail In Ballot Drop!’” and the Democrats “eked out another Crooked Victory.”

Then he admitted something he didn’t mean to admit.

Trump complained that the language on the referendum was “purposefully unintelligible and deceptive.” Then he added, “As everyone knows, I am an extraordinarily brilliant person, and even I had no idea what the hell they were talking about in the Referendum, and neither do they!”

Those are his words.

He is calling the vote crooked not because he has proof of fraud, but because he felt confused and did not like the result. He is saying, out loud, that if a ballot measure reads like legal language he doesn’t immediately understand, it must be rigged.

That is the pattern.

When early in‑person numbers favor Republicans, Trump calls it the “real” result. When mail ballots are counted later and the numbers shift, he calls it a “drop” and screams fraud. When a race is close and he loses, he insists the process itself was crooked.

Virginia is just the latest stage.

He admits the margin was narrow.
He admits the referendum was complicated.
He does not admit that sometimes Democrats simply win.

He leaps straight to the same conclusion he always reaches: that only the courts can “fix this travesty of ‘Justice.’” In other words, if voters don’t give him or his side the result he wants, judges should.

This is not about one ballot question in one state.

It is about teaching his base that any election he loses — from a local referendum to a presidential race — is by definition illegitimate. It is about turning confusion into conspiracy, normal mail-in counting into “ballot drops,” and close losses into proof that someone cheated.

And every time he posts like this, the damage compounds.
