The Supreme Court ruled Friday that DHS can use an expanded database to remove illegal aliens and non-citizens from voter rolls.

The decision lets the Department of Homeland Security use its expanded citizenship verification system, SAVE — the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements program — including Social Security records to check whether voters are citizens.

The impact on the midterms may be limited. Most states are barred from purging voter rolls within 90 days of an election.
