He currently has just 1 percent of what is needed.

Five percent, he said, would get Ukraine through the winter and save lives.

Interceptor supplies have fallen sharply this year as Russian ballistic attacks have surged.

Of course, US approval for licensed production of Patriot interceptors inside Ukraine would instantly solve the problem.

President Trump floated the idea at a recent NATO summit but later expressed uncertainty.

No final agreement has been reached, and Zelensky said he hopes the deal will move forward.
