🚨💔 BREAKING: NFL UMPIRE LARRY SMITH RULED OUT FOR THE REST OF THE 2026 SEASON AFTER HORRIFIC INJURY IN LONDON! 🏈😢

Sad news for the NFL community! Officials have confirmed that umpire Larry Smith will miss the remainder of the 2026 NFL season after suffering a non-contact leg injury during the Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game in London, according to Football Zebras.

The unfortunate incident happened at Wembley Stadium when Smith suddenly went down between plays. After attempting to get back on his feet, he appeared unable to put weight on his leg and went down again.

Medical personnel rushed to assist him before he was eventually taken off the field on a medical cart, leaving players, fans, and fellow officials concerned.

💔 A TOUGH BLOW FOR THE NFL OFFICIATING CREW

According to Football Zebras, multiple officiating sources indicated that Smith suffered a torn quadriceps muscle, although the league declined to comment publicly on the injury. The second-year NFL official will now face a lengthy recovery instead of finishing the season on the field.

Smith’s absence also means the remaining officials must adjust their responsibilities for the rest of the season.

While football fans usually focus on the players who make the biggest plays, this incident is a powerful reminder that officials are also exposed to the physical demands and unexpected risks of the game.

🏈 THE NFL COMMUNITY WILL BE ROOTING FOR HIS RECOVERY!

Smith has worked his way through college football and other leagues to reach the NFL. Seeing his season end this way is undoubtedly disappointing, especially when every official hopes to finish the campaign healthy.

For now, the priority is his recovery and eventual return to the field.

🙏 Let’s show Larry Smith some love and wish him strength as he begins his recovery!
