Prince Harry insider breaks silence with 3-word statement after King Charles meeting
Prince Harry felt “buoyed, very happy and really energised,” after his meeting with King Charles, according to sources. The Duke of Sussex met his father last week during his five-day trip to the UK to mark the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games in Birmingham.
It was the first time in four years that the King saw his American grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, was also present, as was the Queen. Friday’s meeting at Highgrove House was kept under wraps until after it took place, when Buckingham Palace confirmed it without giving any further details. Both sides have remained tight-lipped since the “private family occasion”.
According to The Times, friends of the duke said that on Saturday morning, Harry was “buoyed, very happy and really energised”. But they added that his family’s return to Britain was “now how he wanted it”.
The Sussexes ‘ return came amid a chaotic back and forth between statements and tweaked plans amid the family’s security concerns in the UK.
Harry was originally meant to be travelling to London with his family; however, these plans were scrapped at the eleventh hour.
Meghan was also expected to join her husband at events in Birmingham, but she pulled out at the last minute.
It comes amid reports that some Invictus Games organisers “welcomed” the last-minute change and said it managed to keep the spotlight on the one thing that matters, the veterans.
